Chairside Booking Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 29, 2026

This policy covers the Chairside Booking app (called "Chairside" inside the app) and the web booking page at chairsidebooking.com/jake. Chairside is owned and operated by Jake Watson. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Jake Watson, doing business as Chairside.

Chairside is a booking app for Barber Jake (Jake Watson) at Costello's Barber Collective, 2230 W Horizon Ridge Pkwy, Henderson, NV 89052.

We never sell your data.

The short version

  • We never sell your data.
  • We collect what we need to book your appointments.
  • We don't show ads.
  • Photos for AI style previews are optional. You never need them to book.
  • You can delete your account in the app at any time.

What we collect

Your account

  • Full name
  • Phone number
  • Username
  • Password. We store only a scrambled (hashed) version, never the password itself.
  • When you last logged in

Your bookings

  • The service, date and time you book
  • Changes and cancellations
  • Notes for your barber

Optional details

  • Your birthday
  • Your kids' names, if you book for your kids

Details your barber adds

  • Your barber can save your name, phone, email and a private note in their client list. Only your barber sees these.

Your device

  • A push notification token, so we can send you booking alerts. You can turn notifications off in your phone's settings.

Basic technical data

  • Our servers record basic request logs, including your IP address. We use IP addresses to block abuse, for example too many login attempts.

Photos and AI style previews

The AI Consultant can show you what a new cut might look like on you. It's optional.

What you give us

  • A front photo and/or side photo of your head and hair.
  • Optionally, a picture of a style you like.
  • Simple answers about your hair (like length and texture) and what you want.

Where your photos go

  • Your photos are uploaded to our server and stored with Tigris, our image storage provider.
  • To create a preview, we send your photo to fal.ai. fal.ai runs an image model made by OpenAI (GPT Image) that generates the preview.
  • We don't use your photos for anything else.

The AI-generated look images

  • fal.ai creates the preview image. We copy it into our own storage right away, and the app only ever shows our copy. We never give you or your barber a fal.ai link.
  • fal.ai may keep its own copies of the photos we send and the images it creates for a limited time. Those copies expire under fal.ai's own retention policy, not ours.
  • Older previews, made before this change, have also been copied into our own storage. No preview in the app points to fal.ai.
  • Previews are just a guess. Your barber will confirm what works for your hair.

Who can see them

  • You can see your photos and previews in the app.
  • If you add your AI consult to a booking, only the barber you booked with can see your consult photos and preview. No other barber or client can see them.
  • Consult photos are shown through private links that expire (after about an hour). An old link stops working.
  • Your barber's cover photo is public, because it's on their public page.

How long we keep them

  • Consult photos and AI previews are deleted automatically after 90 days.

How they're deleted

  • When you delete your account, we delete your photos, your AI previews and your preview requests from our storage. We also remove the photos from consults attached to your past bookings.
  • We can't delete fal.ai's copies ourselves. They expire under fal.ai's retention policy (see above).
  • You can also email support@chairsidebooking.com to ask us to delete your photos.

Please only upload photos of yourself, or of your child if you're their parent or guardian. Before you use the AI Consultant, you'll be asked to check a box: "I'm 18 or older, or I'm the parent or guardian and I consent."

How we use your information

  • To book, change and cancel appointments
  • To let you and your barber contact each other about bookings
  • To send booking notifications
  • To create AI style previews, if you ask for them
  • To keep the app secure and stop abuse

Who we share it with

Your barber. Your barber sees your name, phone and booking details so they can serve you.

Service providers. These companies help us run Chairside:

  • Fly.io: hosts our servers and database (in the US)
  • Tigris: stores images
  • fal.ai and OpenAI: create AI style previews
  • Expo: delivers push notifications

The law. We may share information if the law requires it.

We don't sell your personal information. We don't share it for ads. We don't use ad or analytics tracking.

Public information

Your barber's public page (for example, chairsidebooking.com/jake) shows the barber's name, bio, cover photo, shop address and services. Client information is never shown on the public page.

Deleting your account

In the app: go to Settings and tap Delete account. You'll need to enter your password.

On the web: visit chairsidebooking.com/delete-account. Log in, enter your password, and confirm. If a deletion is already scheduled, you can cancel it there. Or email support@chairsidebooking.com.

What happens:

  • Client accounts are deleted right away. Upcoming bookings are canceled. Your name, phone, username, password and push tokens are removed. Past bookings stay in your barber's records, but under "Deleted client."
  • Barber (pro) accounts are deleted after 7 days. You can cancel during those 7 days. After that, upcoming bookings are canceled and the public page is removed.

Children

Chairside is for adults. There are no child accounts. Kids don't make their own accounts.

Parents can book haircuts for their kids. If you do, you (the parent) may enter your kids' first names. We use them only for your bookings.

If you upload a photo of your child for an AI style preview, you must be their parent or guardian and check the consent box: "I'm 18 or older, or I'm the parent or guardian and I consent." Those photos follow the same rules as all consult photos: only the barber you booked with sees them, and they're deleted automatically after 90 days.

We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email support@chairsidebooking.com and we'll delete it.

Security

  • The app and website use encrypted connections (HTTPS).
  • Passwords are stored hashed.
  • Only you and your barber can see your bookings.

No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your choices and rights

  • See or fix your info: update your name and phone in the app, or email us.
  • Delete: see "Deleting your account" above.
  • Notifications: turn them off in your phone settings.
  • Photos: don't use the AI Consultant, or ask us to delete your photos.

Nevada residents: Nevada law lets you ask us not to sell your personal information. We don't sell it. You can still send a request to support@chairsidebooking.com.

Other US states: some states give you more privacy rights. To make a request, email support@chairsidebooking.com.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For big changes, we'll let you know in the app.
